Who Does Hydrotherapy Help?

The hydrotherapy offered at our Prince George clinic is ideal for people who have:

Pain in the low back, knees or hips

Trouble walking or taking steps normally due to pain

Decreased fitness level due to long periods of reduced activity

Diagnosed arthritis in the low back, hips or knees

Increased pain with activity

People with inflammation move abnormally. As humans, most of us do not just stop moving if we are in pain. We tend to compensate and find a way to continue on. One common concern with generalized exercise programs is that one size does not fit all. At Phoenix Physiotherapy Clinic, we will design your exercise program based on the results of a one-on-one functional assessment. Your program will be designed specifically to meet your needs!

Booking an Assessment & Therapist Recommendations

The first step is to call and book an assessment. If you have extended health, then you may want to check to see if a referral is required by your insurance company to have your receipts reimbursed. As physiotherapists are considered primary health care providers, you are not required to have a referral in order to attend.

After your assessment, your physiotherapist may recommend that you get some treatments to address any muscle imbalances or specific weaknesses before you begin hydrotherapy. Make sure to mention that attending hydrotherapy is one of your fitness goals when you discuss your concerns with your physiotherapist.

Overall, the mixture of guidance, information and personal support this program offers may be part of the answer to servicing patients with reduced range of motion or decreased fitness. Of course, the effort you put into the program will dictate the outcome!

If you're considering hydrotherapy in the Prince George area, call to book an assessment at Phoenix Physiotherapy Clinic!
